Toxic Cookware - Is It Killing You and Your Family? Here's a Healthy Option!

There's Such a Thing as “Toxic-Free” Cookware? Absolutely!!

So, for the past 40 plus years I have been engaged in finding the best way to feed my family, which included four children who are all now grown and doing well on their own, thank goodness. In the process of growing up, they each, in their own way, thought I was a bit “touched in the head,” so to speak. Why?

Is your cookware damaging your health?
Because, beginning way back in the 1970's (and going forward!), I made my own yogurt (with organic milk, yet—not so easy to find, back then!); only bought whole grain, organic flours which I kept in the freezer to keep them fresh; purchased peanut butter made with salt and nothing else—the kind that requires stirring in the oil at the top when first opened; and kept my cold-pressed olive, safflower, and canola oils in the fridge to make sure that they wouldn't become rancid and destroy all the fat-soluble vitamins in our bodies. (Note: Open a fresh bottle of olive oil, for example—it should smell a bit like olives! Now open a bottle that has spent months and months in a hot cabinet and take a whiff—that smell is awful because it is spoiled—rancid--and it is awful for your body, too!)

When it came to cookware, I was equally careful. Or so I thought. A wedding gift of aluminum cookware was the hot, new thing and my parents were so excited to make sure that I had a full set! That all seemed like a really good idea, until I realized that aluminum is a heavy metal that leaches into the food in which it is cooked and is very toxic to human-beings. I ditched the set; I mean I threw it in the garbage; I wouldn't give it to somebody else to make them sick, would I? Later on, when my Mom had a pre-cancerous lesion removed, I did some research and found that the ubiquitous ingredient of aluminum in deodorants was carcinogenic and I started using and recommending aluminum-free deodorant to friends, family, and acquaintances! And finally, there's “tin foil,” which is really aluminum foil. Use it in contact with your food, and it leaches aluminum into that food; so now when I heat or store food, I use a sheet of parchment paper over the food, and then the aluminum foil over the parchment, so aluminum never touches the food...

Moving on in the cookware journey, I turned to stainless steel. Little did I know that, even though it is a much better alternative to aluminum, it is still toxic. Stainless steel cookware is made from a metal alloy consisting of mostly ferric iron (which is not the ferrous kind our

bodies need to make our blood red and which comes from food), and chromium along with differing percentages of molybdenum, nickel, titanium, copper and vanadium—not exactly a combination offering healthful elements for human beings. The leaching elements of heavy metal ferric iron, chromium, and nickel all can have negative health effects on our bodies due to their toxicity.

So what to do? Look to pots that are as new as tomorrow and as old as time itself: Clay Cookware which is made in Massachusetts from 100% pure and natural clay, harvested from non-industrialized and secluded places in the United States and tested in an independent state laboratory to ensure purity. In fact, this clay is edible! And each pot is artistically made by a professional potter, while giving you the safest, purest way to cook...

Miriam's Eathenware is non-toxic and healthy!
And where can you get such products? From Miriam's Earthen Cookware! The clay contains important nutrients: phosphorous, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. It also contains micro-nutrients: boron, manganese, zinc, copper, and iron. And these elements of nature are bound together into a stone-like entity and are non-reactive and inert! They do not leach into your food; instead this cookware evenly distributes heat, locks-in steam, and prevents food nutrients from leaching out! There is nothing toxic added and they’re not glazed. They’re Guaranteed to be 100% FREE of Lead, Chemicals, Enamel (paint) and Cadmium. They have NO Heavy Metals, Glaze or Toxins.

Here's what else you should know about Miriam's pots: 1. Steam-Locking Lids Create Energy Savings: Your pot lids are double-locked to retain steam from your food so you won't lose water-soluble nutrients, you don't need extra oils, fat, and/or cooking liquids, and you will use ½ the energy of conventional cooking by only using medium (not high) heat.
2. Cooking Occurs via Superior Far-Infrared Heat Cooking: Your food cooks slowly, evenly and penetrates your food thoroughly without damaging nutritional cells—that means that you and your family are maximizing the nutrition in all the foods you cook in a Miriam's pot. 3. Pots Can Be Used on Both Your Stove-Top and in the Oven: You will use a heat diffuser to cook on any electric stove-top (available on the site for less than $20) and it is recommended that you use one for gas stove-tops as well. In addition, Miriam's pots can withstand oven temperatures of 450°. 4. Multi-Cooking means Multi-Heat Sources and Multi-Functional: You will also use your new Miriam's pot  on wood-fired stoves, inside slow-cookers, solar ovens and for outdoor cooking, too. And your new pot(s) function as a Dutch oven, a slow cooker, a rice pot, a pressure cooker, and even a yogurt-maker! 5. And There's More!
